Meet the Teachers
Ms. Maribel Cortez
Middle School Physical Education & Athletic Director
Ms. Cortez is a Franklin Alumni, class of '92. She was born and raised in Highland Park and has been teaching 26 years total, with 20 here at Franklin. She loves sports- she played in college and continues to play today. She is excited to see our Panteras in action physically and is excited to see our sports team thrive for another successful year. This year she looks forward to meeting our new students in Dual and be part of our growing program.
Ms. Eva Behr
Dual Language Magnet Coordinator & Testing Coordinator
Ms. Behr has lived in Highland Park for 27 years and seen the community grow and change. She taught middle school and high school science for 24 years before leaving the classroom to become a new teacher mentor, then an English Learner Designee, and now the Dual Language Magnet Coordinator. This is her second year at Franklin. She is excited to be a part of this magnet, meet the students and families, and help the program to grow.
