Welcome to Mrs. Mauermann's Classes

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!

I teach Social Studies in the STEM Magnet in Franklin HS.

This Spring Semester I am teaching two sections of Economics, one section of Honors Economics*, and two sections of AP World History: Modern.

In Economics, my goals are to teach students not only the required California Standards in Economics, but to also prepare students to enter their adult life with skills that will help manage their finances and the job market. We will be completing assignments and projects to help students learn and demonstrate their mastery of financial literacy, as their understanding of the U.S. economy in general.

In AP World History, students continue to learn about the developments in world history, focusing on the 19th and 20h century. Students are challenged to demonstrate their understanding of world events and the interconnectedness of those world events, and the implications for our modern world.

Attached are some files that may be useful for students and parents relating to our curriculum.

I sponsor Key Club and the NY Times Puzzle Club. Key Club meets during lunch on Tuesdays and NY Times Puzzle Club meets during Nutrition everyday.

*Honors Economics is a continuation/combination of AP U.S. Government from the Fall Semester. Students will be taking the AP U.S. Government exam in May.
